what we are pushing our world into |
There is a huge mountain of research into the escalating climatic extremes we are experiencing, but practically all of it remains unaware of the extremely powerful role the Earth's forests are playing in climate determination, continental water management and oxygen/ozone generation.

That terrestrial forests - and not the oceans - generate about 75% of the Earth's free oxygen/carbon dioxide cycle is not yet generally known nor understood by our scientists - much less by the general public. Otherwise there would be a strict worldwide prohibition on logging, on the slash & burn of forests, and on the denuding of the Earth's green cover everywhere. It is also not generally known and understood that there are actually four powerful driving forces which are driving our escalating climatic extremes - see CLIMATIC DYNAMICS in these pages - and consequently, much confusion about the interpretation of climatic data.
For these reasons, and since the effects of the "greenhouse effect" are widely known and understood, the references listed here focus primarily on research regarding the vast, powerful and fundamental role of terrestrial forests in the climate regulation of our environments and biosphere.
